Over $30,000 raised for donor-supported programs
June 2017 | Hospice by the Bay was the recent beneficiary of more than $30,000 raised by Shifting Gears — a Marin-based car enthusiasts club — during their 5th Annual Shifting Gears Rally in June. More than 60 participants enjoyed two days of driving classic cars and dining in the historic Gold Country in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
Kitty Whitaker, CEO of Hospice by the Bay said, “Our heartfelt thanks to Shifting Gears and to everyone who participated in the event. A rally is a fitting metaphor for our work helping patients and families navigate new terrain and making every moment count. Your generosity allows us to say “Yes” to anyone who needs us at a very vulnerable time in their lives.” Whitaker participated in the Shifting Gears Rally, riding in a 1965 Ford Mustang convertible driven by Janet Evans, Hospice by the Bay’s Director of Fundraising and Communications.
Money raised during the event will benefit Hospice by the Bay’s Caregiver Fund, Quality of Life Fund, By the Bay Wishes, and Community Grief Support.
